Holtzclaw donates to Rainbow DOGS

MADISON – Sen. Bill Holtzclaw recently presented a grant to Rainbow Elementary School to establish the Watch D.O.G.S. program.

Dads of Great Students activates students’ fathers on campus in volunteer roles, from the car line to restocking library shelves. The boys see their fathers, and other students fathers, as male role models. WATCH D.O.G.S. are mentors within the school.

“I got to meet with the new principal, Brian Givens, and present a grant to help start Watch D.O.G.S. This is a wonderful program placing positive role models throughout the school,”Holtzclaw said.

“Fathers, grandfathers, step-fathers, uncles and other father figures volunteer to serve at least one day a year in a variety of school activities as assigned by the school principal,” Holtzclaw said.

This grant will fund T-shirts that volunteers will wear.
