Frontier to fly from Huntsville International

HUNTSVILLE – A new airline will offer flights at Huntsville International Airport. The airline is known for low fares and will have non-stop flights to two destinations

Low-cost carrier Frontier Airlines announced the addition of new, nonstop flights from Huntsville International Airport with service to Denver International Airport and the only service to Orlando International Airport.

Airport and airline officials hosted a ceremony on July 12 to announce the news about Frontier. Service will begin in fall 2018. Frontier is offering a special introductory one-way fare of $39, which is available now. Visit flyfrontier.com.

“We are proud to bring our unique brand of ‘Low Fares Done Right’ to the Rocket City,” Frontier Spokesperson Stephen Shaw said. “Frontier’s new flights to Denver and Orlando will make air travel more accessible and affordable for everyone in Huntsville and northern Alabama. We look forward to making it easier for people to fly, and for people to fly more often.”

Betty Fletcher, Huntsville Airport Board Chairman, said this partnership “is important because it fills a specific void for a low-cost carrier for our leisure travelers” in North Alabama. “It’s no secret that Huntsville has lots of expendable income in the market.”

In addition, the area has many cost-conscious engineers that have demanded fair, competitive, comparable fares. “We can be certain that our community will respond well to and support Frontier Airlines,” Fletcher said.

“Frontier Airlines boasts a network that serves more than 80 cities in the U.S., Mexico and Dominican Republic,” Rick Tucker said. Tucker is Executive Director for Huntsville International Airport. “They have over 1,000 nonstop and connecting routes. Couple that stability and structure with our community’s excellent track record of supporting low-cost carriers and it’s a recipe for success.”

Flights from Huntsville to Denver will start on Oct. 5. Non-stop flips to Orlando will be available on Oct. 21.

Frontier flies one of the youngest fleets in the industry — the Airbus A320 Family of nearly 80 jet aircraft. With nearly 200 new planes on order, Frontier will continue to grow to deliver on the mission of providing affordable travel across America, Shaw said.
