Chambers host Regional After Hours event

HUNTSVILLE — Business professionals from four chambers of commerce gathered Thursday night on the second floor of the Huntsville International Airport for a night of networking.

The participating chambers were Madison, Huntsville/Madison County, Decatur-Morgan County and Greater Limestone County.

Guests were able to enjoy an assortment of beverages and hors d’oeuvres, as well as a spread of meats, cheeses, fruits and desserts while making new contacts and reconnecting with familiar faces. Many gathered in the executive offices to admire the new renovations.

Violinist Winslow Davis, of Harvest, provided the evening’s musical entertainment, playing a wide range of covers on his electric violin—from Louis Armstrong’s “What a Wonderful World” to Ed Sheeran’s “Thinking Out Loud.”

Felecia Rodgers, events and marketing coordinator for Madison Chamber of Commerce, said she really enjoyed the Regional After Hours event and the turnout was “fantastic.”

“It was great to meet new people and to see faces that we hadn’t seen in a while,” Rodgers said. “The food was amazing and so was the music by Winslow Davis.  The new airport offices were so beautiful.  All in all, I really think the joint Regional After Hours was a success, and I hope we can have it again next year.”

Proceeds from the event were applied to each chamber’s foundation and education efforts. Attendees could also pick up a pin commemorating the 50th anniversary of the airport.
