Tee Up Fore Business Golf Tournament

MADISON- Golf, prizes and fun are all set to be joined together as the Madison Chamber of Commerce is set to hold its inaugural Tee Up Fore Business Golf Tournament on Friday, Sept. 28 at Sunset Landing Golf Course with a shotgun start at 8:00 a.m.

“We’re very excited to introduce this new event to the Madison community,” said Pam Honeycutt, executive director of the Madison COC. “Both sponsorships and teams are value priced enabling any sized company to participate in the tournament, promote their business and gain valuable exposure to local business professionals.”

Team registration is just $300 and includes the round of golf, complimentary swag bags, breakfast and lunch- not to mention an endless number of contests and raffle prizes. In addition, two Hole-In-One prizes will be offered. The first will be a brand new Polaris Slingshot, sponsored by Polaris, while the second will be for $10,000 cash, sponsored by Peggie Hulebak Rowell, P.C. Cash prizes will be awarded to both first and second place teams and a chance to win a $500 flight voucher from the Huntsville International Airport.

The Sunset Landing Golf Course is a 6,803-yard, par 72 course with bermuda fairways and bentgrass greens. Now privately operated by Birdie Boys II, Inc., led by longtime PGA Professional Mike Parrish, the course was originally a City of Huntsville Municipal Golf Course called the Jetport Golf Course. Without a lot of trees, due to Federal Aviation Regulations because of the course bordering the north-south runways of the Huntsville International Airport, the 18-hole layout is primarily flat and has a 71.9 slope and a 118 rating from the championship tees.

The four-person scramble format tournament is one of the ways the Madison COC looks to unite all public and private interests to support those activities that are broader than any single business or industry, but that promote the welfare of the Madison community as a whole.

For additional information on entering or sponsorships, visit the Madison COC website at www.madisonalchamber.com or call its office at 256-325-8317.
