Suspect caught in Mobile linked to Thursday’s robberies in Madison

MADISON – The suspect wanted for two robberies in Madison Thursday night has been caught, said Chief Deputy Stacy Bates with the Madison County Sheriff’s Office.

Madison County Sheriff’s Office Investigators and FBI Agents with the North Alabama Violent Crimes Task Force located robbery suspect, 41-year-old Terrence Warren Jackson of Huntsville, less than 24 hours after he allegedly committed multiple robberies in Madison and the Decatur area on Thursday night.

Jackson was located in the Mobile area and will be transported back to Madison county to face multiple felony charges.
The joint investigation started after three businesses were robbed, with two being in Madison and one in Decatur on Oct. 10.

A little after 6 p.m. Thursday evening, police reported an armed robbery at the Verizon store on Madison Blvd. Authorities said a white male wearing a mask got away with an undisclosed amount of money.

Later that same night, around 9:45 p.m., police reported they were investigating an armed robbery at Marco’s Pizza on Highway 72. Madison Police said they were searching for a tall white male wearing a black mask and a black jacket.

“Madison County Sheriff Investigators, with the assistance of the FBI and the Violent Crime Task Force, were able to quickly develop suspect information that linked Jackson to the crimes,” Bates said.

Sheriff’s Investigators were able to determine an address where he had been living, and in the early morning hours of Oct. 11, the Madison County Sheriff’s Office SWAT team and FBI served a search warrant at a house in the 3000 block of Fouche Drive in Huntsville.

Bates said Jackson fled the home prior to the SWAT teams arrival, but multiple stolen items were located in the house.

“Using all available resources, Investigators were able to track Jackson to the Mobile, AL area, and with help of other law enforcement agencies he was safely taken into custody,” he said.

The investigation is still ongoing, but Bates said investigators anticipate closing multiple armed robberies in the North Alabama area as a result of this investigation.

“No one will ever know just how hard Madison County Sheriff’s investigators and the FBI Violent Crimes Task Force Agents worked to bring this crime spree to a quick and safe conclusion,” said Madison County Sheriff Kevin Turner. “The Sheriff’s Office SWAT team did an outstanding job as well by safely entering and securing the house where a large amount of stolen items were located. This case is an example of how beneficial Task Force partnerships are to the Sheriff’s Office and the citizens of Madison County. The Sheriff’s Office will continue to utilize every tool and resource at our disposal to ensure the citizens of Madison County can continue to live in a safe community”.
