Bob Jones names Martha Cox as leading staffer

MADISON – Martha Cox feels the most pride in her work when she can help students and parents solve problems that they may have. Cox is 2021 “Staff Member of the Year” at Bob Jones High School.

In her job as registrar, she works with student records, enrolls and withdraws students and answers requests for transcripts and student records. “I work with administration and counselors on class setup, inputting data in the database,” Cox said.

“I work with teachers with grades, report cards and homeroom assignments. I also work with reports for the State of Alabama,” she said.

Before moving to Alabama, Cox worked at Clarkmoor Elementary School in Fort Lewis, Wash. She started working for Madison City Schools in 2008 and has worked at both Bob Jones and James Clemens High School.

Cox graduated from Falkner High School in her hometown of Falkner, Miss. “I grew up singing in my church,” she said. Cox earned an associate’s degree at Northeast Mississippi Community College in Booneville.

Her husband Andy Cox retired from the military and currently works as a contractor on Redstone Arsenal. “We have two daughters, Caitlin and Brittany. Both are graduates of Bob Jones High School. Caitlin graduated from University of Alabama at Birmingham, and Brittany graduated from Athens State University,” Martha said.

When away from work, Martha enjoys reading, cooking and spending time with her family.
