Limestone County Powwow to be held this weekend

Athens will host a celebration of Native American culture this weekend with the Limestone County Powwow on Saturday and Sunday. The event, which will held at the Limestone Rodeo Arena – 18118 Alabama Hwy 99, will feature performances by Jack “Crazy Flute” Holland and Malia’s Hula Halau – a great salute to all of our Native American cultures.

Visitors can also experience the flavors with some authentic Native American foods as well.

There will be a “Chicken Dance” special on Saturday, which will be an amazing display of skill and talent. Visitors can step up to the tipis set up on the grounds and take a look inside or have your photo taken in front of them.

The grand entry parade at noon each day – an experience not to miss.
