Madison Academy’s Drew Blackston Signs Scholarship

MADISON- Madison Academy senior basketball player Drew Blackston signed a college scholarship with Trevecca Nazarene University of Nashville. The Trojans’ program is a NCAA Div. II school. Blackston, son of longtime Mustangs’ head coach Andy Blackston, has been a team captain and named to All-Area teams and All-Area Academic squads during his tenure with the Mustangs. He led the 2021 team with the highest free throw percentage, most assists, most steals and most charges taken. The shooting guard chose the Trojans over several other schools including Rochester University and Auburn-Montgomery.

“I chose Trevecca Nazarene because it’s a place where I can play what I love and also have the ability to grow in my faith. Coach (Omar) Mance and the staff made it feel like home and I couldn’t be more excited,” said Blackston.
