Emmah Rolfe Pitches Her Fifth No-Hitter For Bob Jones In Big Win Over James Clemens

MADISON- March first came in like a lion for the Bob Jones softball team as the Patriots defeated crosstown rival James Clemens in the first matchup of area play for the 2022 season.

Behind the sensational pitching of senior and Auburn signee Emmah Rolfe, Bob Jones defeated the Jets 13-0. Rolfe pitched a no-hitter striking out 15 while going two for three at the plate. The “no-no” was Rolfe’s fifth in her time at Bob Jones and she notched her 600th career strikeout.

“It was a fun game for me personally as I hit the spots all game long as my catcher Alexa Douthitt was a tremendous help,” said Rolfe. “My riser was my best pitch. It was also a good feeling I could rely on our defense to back me up.”

The pitching performance was a near perfect game in the five-inning contest for the 5-foot-11 senior right hander. She faced 16 batters, one more than the minimum, as there was a passed ball on the catcher and a ground out.

“I had a perfect game in my freshman year versus Florence and I’ve been close several times,” added Rolfe. “Beating our rivals made the game even more special and when I made that last strikeout to end the game I sprinted towards the dugout and my teammates were there with hugs as we celebrated.”

In the shutout, the Patriots were also proficient at the plate. Natalia Kenyatta was 3-4 with a double, triple and two RBIs, Charlotte Herron was 2-4, including two doubles and two RBIs and Alexa Douthitt was 3-3 at the plate with four runs batted in.
