Columbia honors Teashia Garth as ‘Staff Member of the Year’

MADISON – Teashia Garth has worked on more campuses of Madison City Schools than possibly any other employee.

The teachers and staff of Columbia Elementary selected Garth as the 2022 “Staff Member of the Year.”

She first worked at Epsco Inc. “In 2010, I started working for Madison City Schools as a temporary custodian. Then, I became permanent in 2012, and I started working at Columbia Elementary School,” Garth said.

During her time with the Madison district, Garth also has worked at Rainbow and Mill Creek elementary schools, Liberty and Discovery middle schools and Bob Jones High School.

Teashia’s children are Jamari Kent, who attends James Clemens High School; Amari Garth, a student at Discovery Middle School; and Ariel Eason.

When Teashia has spare time away from work, you likely will find her in the kitchen, because she loves to cook.
