Hogan Family YMCA offers camps for Christmas, New Year’s

MADISON – When the excitement of Christmas morning has passed, children need a safe and an active environment when Dad and Mom return to work.

Luckily, Hogan Family YMCA has an answer for daycare during Christmastime and the start of a Happy New Year.

Hogan Family YMCA, 130 Park Square Lane in Madison will conduct their Christmas Holiday Camp before/after Christmas on Dec. 19-23 and the next week on Dec. 26-30.

In addition, youth can attend New Year’s Camp on Jan. 2-3, 2023 when parents must return to their jobs.

Hogan Family YMCA’s staff hosts day-long and week-long holiday camps on most days when Madison City Schools dismisses classes. Supervised, age-appropriate activities include indoor swimming, field trips, sports, games, free play, arts and crafts, movies and other recreation.

Day camp hours run from 7 a.m. to 6 p.m. Children in kindergarten through eighth grade can attend. Campers should bring a full bottle of water, lunch, two snacks and swimwear with a towel.

YMCA staff said that parents don’t need to worry about what their child will do during school breaks. At the holiday camp, the youth can have a fun time with their peers while under supervision of qualified staff.

For Hogan Family YMCA members, the Christmas Holiday Camp costs $155. Individuals who aren’t members pay $205.

For more camp information, call Josh Campbell at 256-705-9622 or josh.campbell@ymcahuntsville.org.

Hogan Family YMCA offers other care year-round:

* After-school care — Research shows that children who participate in after-school programs are more successful in academics, are healthier and more often maintain positive behaviors, according to the YMCA.

* Daycare and pre-school — Children are like sponges . . . they absorb knowledge, skills and values from their environments. The YMCA believes values and skills that young children learn will serve as building blocks for quality of life.

* Child Watch — When parents attend a session at Hogan Family YMCA, children have a safe, enriching environment.

* Kid’s Night Out – Children can get out of the house for fun activities . . . and pizza.
