Mazda Toyota Manufacturing awards $150,000 to nonprofits through second round of grants

HUNTSVILLE– Mazda Toyota Manufacturing (MTM) Tuesday hosted twelve nonprofit grantees at their site to celebrate the awarding of $150,000 through the MTM Grant Fund. Grantees took part in a tour of the facility and celebrated this second milestone in MTM’s history. Last year, MTM awarded their Inaugural Grant Fund at their Community Appreciation Event on June 30, 2022.

“MTM is grateful to the organizations that support our community, and our MTM Grant Fund is one way that we can show that commitment to North Alabama,” said Mark Brazeal, Vice President of Administration at MTM.

The 2023 MTM Grant Fund received over 80 applications when it opened in February 2023, with over $2.2 million in requests. MTM’s Grant Committee narrowed it down to twelve deserving organizations. Grant recipients include Huntsville Hospital Foundation, Family Services Center, NCAC, Heals, Inc., KTECH/Kids to Love, ELM Foundation, Girls, Inc., Kid ONE Transport, The Care Center, Huntsville Botanical Gardens, Still Serving Veterans, and Cap & Gown Project. Representatives of these organizations were present for a check presentation and ceremony with the MTM Team, and MTM’s fund partner the Community Foundation of Greater Huntsville. The Community Foundation hosts MTM’s fund on their platform and is integral in facilitating MTM’s corporate grantmaking.

“I hope our team members are very proud of the impact that MTM is having in our community, all in the hopes we can make Huntsville and the surrounding areas the best place for our team to live, to work, and to build their future,” said Senior Vice President Janette Hostettler.

MTM will launch a third round of funding later this year. Interested applicants can visit the Community Foundation’s website, or follow Mazda Toyota Manufacturing on Facebook, Instagram and LinkedIn for that announcement.
