AUSA showcasing the U.S. Army’s technological advances in Huntsville

By Bradley Cox, www.1819News.com

The Association of the U.S. Army (AUSA) will host its annual global symposium at the Von Braun Center in Huntsville Today through Thursday evening. The event is an opportunity for companies worldwide, especially those with ties to Alabama, to showcase their new technological expertise before many service combatant commanders and also those at the Pentagon/strategic level.

The AUSA Global Force Symposium & Exposition (GFS&E) is a three-day event hosted by Army Materiel Command (AMC) alongside the Office of the Assistant Secretary of the Army (Acquisition, Logistics, and Technology) and other Army Commands that highlights how the Total Army will modernize and transform into a multi-domain capable force.

The 2024 AUSA Global Force Symposium & Exposition will explore the capabilities outlined in the Army’s Modernization Strategy to drive in order to drive change. Special guest presentations, coupled with panel discussions from senior military and industry leaders, will address critical points of research and development, acquisition and contracting, force sustainment, strategic divestiture, and industry partnerships.

AUSA says this is greater synergy with industry partners to ensure a modernized defense industrial base. The Army must continue to streamline its acquisition processes and invest in the modernization of facilities and infrastructure, training, and skill sets required, with an eye toward the future to maintain an overmatch for great power competition.

AUSA says this year’s theme is “Continuous Transformation to Deliver Ready Combat Formations.” The event will feature several senior leaders, including Army Undersecretary Gabe Camarillo, Sgt. Maj. of the Army Michael Weimer and leaders from Army Materiel Command, Army Futures Command, and Army Training and Doctrine Command. Lt. Gen. Chris Mohan, deputy commander of AMC, will serve in U.S. Army Gen. Charles Hamilton’s place.

Alabama, especially Redstone Arsenal, plays a huge role in national self-defense and space defense, and many companies that support thousands of high-paying jobs in Alabama will be represented at the conference.

AUSA said in a statement, “Additionally, an AUSA Family Pavilion will be featured for the first time at Global Force, extending the organization’s reach in supporting soldiers and their families.”

“There also will be almost 200 exhibits showcasing the latest innovations from industry and the Army, and some 6,000 attendees are expected,” AUSA added.

Active, reserve, National Guard, veterans, retirees and anybody else may sign up here.
