Madison Academy gets the better of Westminster

HUNTSVILLE – The Mustangs of Madison Academy were able to close out regular season play with a road defeat of Westminster Christian Academy 21-17 on Friday.

Madison Academy was powered by a strong offensive line who consistently created holes for running back Josh Williams to go stampeding through.

Williams collected a pair of rushing scores in the contest including a 5-yard touchdown in the third quarter that would prove to be all the Mustangs would need to fend off the Wildcats.

Westminster’s running back Evan McClure terrorized Madison Academy defense during the game with his relentless carries for chunks of yardage.

McClure would appear to be tackled by a mob of Mustangs only to see the pile begin to shift as the Wildcat running back continued to keep his legs churning for more yardage.

The Westminster senior would go on to score two touchdowns in the regular season finale.

Another player who shined for the Wildcats was the do-everything player Carson Tinsley who put his talents on full display in the game with two important catches as a receiver and several good kicks on special teams.
