Mitch Daly on the move: Former Bob Jones standout moving from Trash Pandas to 66ers

MADISON- The Rocket City Trash Pandas has made a series of player moves including Mitch Daly. The Bob Jones High graduate and only local player to suit up for the Trash Pandas has been transferred to the Single-A Inland Empire 66ers of the California League.

While with the Trash Pandas, Daly played in 16 games. He batted .157 with eight hits in 51 at bats. He had two RBIs, but suffered through 23 strikeouts.

The multi-position infielder made his trek to the 66ers, located in San Bernardino, just east of Los Angeles with Big Bear Lake Resort located northeast of the city of 220,000 residents in population. The team plays at its home field of San Manuel Stadium and has a current record of 17-46.

Daly was assigned to his hometown team May 20.

He graduated from Bob Jones in 2020. He packed his baseball gear and headed to attend the University of Texas to play baseball for the Longhorns where in his freshman season his team advanced to the College World Series semi-finals. Following the 2023 season, he transferred to Kentucky. With the Wildcats, Daly came alive hitting .300 and was named to the SEC All-Defensive Teams as a third baseman. The Cats also qualified for the College World Series.

Daly signed with the Los Angeles Angels in July 2024 and was assigned to the 66ers, the team he now returns to a year later. He remained with the 66ers to start the 2025 season before he was transferred to the Salt Lake Bees in Triple-A.

The 6-foot-1, 185-pound shortstop/utility infielder is now 24 years old.
