MADISON – Brianna Sistrunk of Madison has been crowned 2025 Mrs. Alabama America and soon will compete at the national level.

The Mrs. Alabama America pageant was held at the Center for Performing Arts in Pell City on June 8.

With the win, Sistrunk will advance to the national pageant in Las Vegas, Nev. on Aug. 27 to represent the State of Alabama. She will compete with 53 other delegates from across the country for the title of Mrs. America 2025.

Sistrunk grew up in Leighton and Muscle Shoals. After graduating from high school, she competed in numerous pageants. She is the former titleholder of Miss Black and Gold 2013 at the University of North Alabama. Sistrunk is the former Mrs. Alabama United States 2019.

At UNA, she received a bachelor’s degree in mass communication with a concentration in broadcast journalism and a minor in women’s studies.

“My reason and motivation for competing was and is my desire to advocate and raise awareness for pregnancy loss, infant loss and miscarriage after suffering a loss at 19 weeks gestation in 2015 and suffering from an ectopic pregnancy the following year (same week) that required emergency surgery,” Sistrunk said.

In addition, Sistrunk supports the March of Dimes charity, which educates the public, especially about preterm labor and birth defects. Sistrunk has started a YouTube Channel with a dedicated series to help other mothers who also have suffered from infant loss. She conducts a podcast, “Girl, Yes & Amen!,” that discusses various topics from a Christian woman’s perspective.

With her respective title, the winner of Mrs. Alabama America wins the official crown and rhinestone sash, full airfare and preparation for the national pageant, along with sponsorships for dental service, jewelry and wardrobe.

“I also competed, with the hope to use the crown, as an opportunity to advocate for married women, who feel as though they can no longer pursue, their dreams, goals or aspirations,” Sistrunk said. “I hope to be living proof that those desires do not have to be stifled, just because you are a wife and/or mother.”

“I strongly believe we were all created with God-given purpose . . . that He has called us to walk out and everything leading up to your current season can help propel you into exactly what he has for you,” she said. “It’s NEVER too late.”

She now lives in Madison with husband John Sistrunk, who works as a system engineer. Their children are daughter London, 7; daughter Milan, 5; and son Rome, 3.

“I am a stay-at-home mother that dabbles outside of the home,” Brianna Sistrunk said. “I substitute teach often at my daughter’s school. I do makeup sometimes for other girls and women, judge pageants, coach girls for pageants and host my own podcast, “Girl, Yes & Amen!” on my YouTube channel!”

Mrs. America, Mrs. American and Miss for America Strong Pageants feature the most accomplished married and single women of America. The winner of Mrs. America and Mrs. American advance to compete at Mrs. World.
