Hanu Karlapalem announces campaign kickoff for State House District 4
MADISON — Former Madison mayoral candidate Hanu Karlapalem is running for Alabama State House of Representatives District 4 in the upcoming election. He is planning a campaign kickoff Saturday, April 4. He is running as the Democratic nominee in the November 3, 2026, general election against Republican incumbent Rep. Parker Moore.
According to Karlapalem’s campaign, he has been a Madison resident for 26 years, small technology business owner, life member and former second vice president of the Limestone County NAACP, former UAH Alumni Association board member and community servant leader.
District 4 covers portions of Morgan, Limestone and Madison counties.
Hanu is inviting people from all over North Alabama, especially from State House District 4 to his kickoff event on April 4 at the Best Western Plus Hotel, 9035 Madison Blvd, in Madison at 4 p.m.
“This campaign is about ‘An Alabama We Can Afford’ — lower costs, stronger public schools, real healthcare. That’s my platform,” said Karlapalem.
Karlapalem has earned a Master of Science in Management Information Systems from the University of Alabama in Huntsville (UAH). His campaign says he has been a voice for constituent advocacy on issues including utility costs, public education, constitution and smart growth.
