Residents can meet, celebrate or gather at reimagined City of Madison Meeting Hall

MADISON – Madison City Hall refers to the venue as “the perfect place to meet, celebrate and gather.” The description does fit the function and possibilities for Madison Meeting Hall.

On April 27, Mayor Ranae Bartlett joined city staff and City Council members for a ribbon-cutting ceremony to officially open Madison Meeting Hall. Directly south of Discovery Middle School, the building at 1282 Hughes Road formerly housed Madison Senior Center. Years ago, the city’s Rec- reation Department had offices in the building.

As part of the city’s ongoing efforts to optimize use of public facilities, this space will provide a welcoming and functional setting for groups to come together.

The rental space features two professional boardrooms that can accommodate eight and 16 people, respectively. These rooms are ideal for business meetings, team planning sessions or civic gatherings. Rental fee is $25 per hour.

The former ‘auditorium,’ where senior center members gathered for sessions and to have lunch, now offers flexible space for community gatherings, like birthday parties, banquets, family reunions, baby showers and neighborhood events. This space can comfortably accommodate approximately 75 to 100 people and includes a convenient food-preparation area to support various events that need to serve snacks or a meal. Rental fee is $108 per hour.

The reimagined space is open for business and is available for upcoming events. Rooms are available on Monday through Thursday until 8 p.m. and on Fridays until 5 p.m.

Anyone interested in renting space can request a tour. Individuals who use the facility must reserve space at least two weeks in advance. New signage for Madison Meeting Hall will be installed soon.

For reservations, visit madisonal.gov/1345/Madison- Meeting-Hall.
