UAH softball players named CSC Academic All-District

MADISON – The College Sports Communicators Academic All-District Teams for the 2026 softball season were announced, and the UAH softball team was represented by three honorees including Alexa Douthitt of Madison, Katie Bracken, and Mia Brown.

Douthitt, a business management major, hit .396 with 84 hits, 19 doubles and 63 RBI while starting all 63 games this season. She is a former Bob Jones High School standout.

Bracken, an elementary education major, posted an 18-11 record with a 3.33 ERA and 220 strikeouts across 176.2 innings pitched this season.

Brown, a nursing major, hit .408 with a .533 on-base percentage and 43 RBI in 59 appearances this season.

In order to qualify for Academic All-District, student-athletes must have at least a 3.50 cumulative GPA as well as being competing in at least 90 percent of the team’s games. Pitchers are eligible with 17 appearances in the circle or 25 innings pitched.

The 2025-26 Academic All-District Softball Teams, selected by College Sports Communicators, recognize the nation’s top student- athletes for their combined performances on the diamond and in the classroom. The CSC Academic All-America program separately recognizes honorees in four divisions — NCAA Division I, NCAA Division II, NCAA Division III and NAIA.

Academic All-District honorees advance to the CSC Academic All-America ballot. First-, second and third-team Academic All-America honorees will be announced June 16. The Division II and III CSC Academic All-America programs are partially financially supported by the NCAA Division II and III national governance structures to assist CSC with handling the awards fulfillment aspects for the 2025-26 Divisions II and III Academic All-America programs. The NAIA CSC Academic All-America program is partially financially supported through the NAIA governance structure.
