Good Samaritan Hospice named one of the “Best Places to Work”

At a banquet hosted by The Chamber of Commerce of Huntsville/Madison County at the Von Braun Conference Center on Tuesday April 19, 2011, Good Samaritan Hospice of Madison was honored as one of “Best Places to Work 2011” in the small firm category (25-74 employees).

Good Samaritan Hospice of Madison opened in 2005 and the current owners purchased the company in 2009.  GSH provides hospice services to individuals and their families who are facing a terminal diagnosis, when the focus has changed from curative care to end of life care.

GSH provides skilled nurses, social services, and chaplain services for hospice care.  Hospice serves the physical, social, emotional and spiritual needs of patients and their families throughout the time of illness and bereavement.  The GSH staff provides comfort and palliative care to its patients.  GSH’s owner and CEO, Janet Melton, RN, also serves as clinical director, is regularly on call, provides care to patients and can be reached at the GSH offices.

On winning this prestigious award Melton said, “Other than the satisfaction I get from caring for our terminally ill patients, this is one of the most gratifying awards any business owner could hope to receive. I owe this award to all our employee’s for making Good Samaritan Hospice of Madison truly one of the best places to work.”
