MCSO: Suspect arrested in series of gas station burglaries, nabbed while trying to rob store off Wall Triana

Gary Morrison Bradley

MADISON COUNTY – The Madison County Sheriff’s Office said Tuesday they have made an arrest for a series of gas station robberies. Over the past two weeks, detectives with the Madison County Sheriff’s Office (MCSO) have been investigating multiple gas station burglaries across Madison County. According to the MCSO, surveillance footage obtained from each incident indicated that the burglaries were committed by the same individual.

During the course of the investigation, investigators with the Huntsville Police Department contacted MCSO detectives and advised that they were also investigating several gas station burglaries within the Huntsville city limits. HPD investigators had identified a possible suspect, Gary Morrison Bradley, 46. After comparing Bradley’s photograph with surveillance footage obtained by MCSO, detectives confirmed that the same individual was responsible for the burglaries in both jurisdictions.

MCSO said detectives were conducting a surveillance operation overnight on Monday in an area where several recent burglaries had occurred. At approximately 1:30 a.m. Tuesday, a detective located Bradley’s truck parked behind the Chevron located on Wall Triana Highway.

Detectives said they established surveillance around the business and observed Bradley approach the front of the store. Bradley threw a brick through the glass front door and made entry into the business. Detectives and patrol deputies quickly surrounded the location and took Bradley into custody without incident. At the time of his arrest, Bradley was found to be in possession of items stolen from inside the store.

Deputy Brent Patterson with the MCSO stateed that following the arrest, detectives executed a search warrant at Bradley’s residence, where they recovered additional evidence and stolen property connected to the Madison County burglaries and burglaries being investigated by the Huntsville Police Department. Bradley was booked into the Madison County Jail and charged with four counts of Burglary. The investigation remains ongoing, and additional charges are expected.

“These cases are a prime example of the teamwork and cooperation between the Madison County Sheriff’s Office and the Huntsville Police Department,” said Sheriff Kevin Turner. “By working together and sharing information, our detectives were able to quickly identify and apprehend a repeat offender who was targeting businesses in our community.”
