Home Instead has placed Christmas trees in Kroger stores through Huntsville and Madison. The ornaments on the trees all contain seniors’ wish lists.

“We started the program nine years ago just as a way to give back to he seniors here in the community that are needy,” said Julie Smith, marketing director. “We are in the homes everyday providing caregivers, and this was a way for us to reach those in the population that are most needy.”

Local businesses submitted names of those in need in the area.

“Many of the things they ask for are sheets, towels and food,” Smith said. “The number one most requested item is gift cards for food.”
