Crunkleton makes a difference in lives

Being in a position to make a difference in the lives of others is a role that Meggan Crunkleton looks forward to everyday.

Serving as the focal point for Madison Hospital, Crunkleton became the Madison Hospital activation coordinator in March 2009.

“In this role, I serve as the internal management of the activation process and plans,” said Crunkleton . “I manage issues as well as ensure all processes, systems and individual functional units have a plan for how they will operate in the new facility.”

Crunkleton will stay within her role three-six months post activation.

Crunkleton said during this time frame, she will work with her team to perform post activation audits to assess operational processes and day to day performance in the new facility.

Prior to her current role, she served as a planning analyst for Huntsville Hospital and then as director of special projects and major gifts officer for Huntsville Hospital Foundation.

After taking a year off after undergrad to care for her ailing grandparents, Crunkleton saw the difficult experiences they had to face with being in and out of doctors’ offices and the hospital. “It was then that I wanted to some how some day be in a position to make a difference in the lives of others that would go through the same trials,” said Crunkleton.

Crunkleton is originally from Tupelo, Miss. where she earned her bachelor’s degree from Mississippi State University and then obtained a master’s of science in health administration and master’s of business administration degrees from the University of Alabama at Birmingham.

Crunkleton moved to the area after marrying her husband the summer of 2006.

“We had our first son five months ago, so I don’t have a lot of free time these days between work and mommyhood,” she said. “I enjoy spending as much time as I can with my family relishing in this special time in my son’s life.”
