Chris Seger, chief inspector at Precinct 89, which is located at Madison Baptist Church on Balch Road said Madison’s polling stations had a “good turnout.”

Around noon Seger said the turnout for this primary seemed to be the same as the primary four years ago. He noted more voters will show up for the general election in November because the primary doesn’t actually put people in office, so not as many people come out to vote.

 Election results

Mo Brooks holds his seat. Dale Strong won the seat in the GOP race for Madison County Chairman. Strong defeated opponent Wayne Parker. Rick Santorum won Alabama with 35 percent, beating out Newt Gingrich, Mitt Romney and Ron Paul.
