Norma Alline Pike Chandler; March 8, 2013

Norma Alline Chandler, age 88, of Huntsville went to the Lord on Friday, March 8 at Huntsville.

She was born on Nov. 9, 1924 in Fairview to her parents, Homer and Dora Pike.

Alline was one of eight children, has three surviving sisters, and was a lifetime resident of Alabama.

She is survived by her three children, Greg Chandler and (Lois), Diane Cobble (widow of Bob) and Mark Chandler (Donna); as well as 11 grandchildren, 11 great-grandchildren, one great-great grandchild, and a host of nieces, nephews, and many dear friends.

Alline was a member of All Nations Church and an active member at the Senior Center, where she took art classes and line dancing.

Alline was a beautiful, vibrant, giving woman with a heart of diamonds. A mother, sister, grandmother, great-grandmother, great-great grandmother, aunt, and friend, Alline loved to love people and welcomed all into her family. A gentle soul, with a strong faith, Alline loved to give and get the best hugs. An artist, dancer, traveler, and avid reader, she loved to walk, be it around town or in the mall with her dear friends. Alline loved holidays and special family times, always preparing the best fried potatoes and chicken. Her paintings are a reflection of her love, beauty and happiness. Our mom, grandma, and Gigi, taught us to approach life with wit, wisdom, and humor, wrapped in her faith in God, led by the Lord’s wisdom and her love for all. For all her beauty, Alline is remembered as being perfectly humble.

The family held a memorial service for Alline on Tuesday, March 12 at 1 p.m., preceded by visitation at noon at the All Nations Church on Drake Ave. Huntsville-Madison County Senior Center, 2200 Drake Ave SW, Huntsville, AL 35805.
