Ronald Carl Harper; April 4, 2013

Ronald Carl Harper, age 71, of Madison, passed away on Thursday April 4, 2013 at the Floyd E. “Tutt” Fann Veteran’s Home.

Mr. Harper is preceded in death by his parents, Homer and Mellie Mae Harper; his brother, Gary Harper; and his sister, Ruth Combs. Mr. Harper was a retired veteran with the US Army after 26 years of service.

Mr. Harper is survived by his wife, Terri L. Harper; his children, David R. Harper and Daniel L. Harper; his sister, Karen Harper Eastwood; his brother, James Harper; and his grandchildren, Aubrey D. Harper and Austin D. Harper.

A graveside service with full military honors took place on Monday April 8, 2013 at 11 a.m. at Alabama National Cemetery in Montevallo, with burial following. Terrell Boyd officiated. The family received friends on Saturday April 6, 2013 from 5 until 8 p.m. at Spry Funeral Home of Huntsville.

The family would like to give special thanks to Gentiva Hospice and Hospice of North Alabama for their prayers, care, and concern for Mr. Harper during his illness.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the family to help defray funeral costs.
