Mitchell named Staff Member of the Year for Central Office

MADISON – Shannon Mitchell was selected as Staff Member of the Year at the Central Office for Madison City Schools.

Mitchell works in the personnel office. “I handle all of the system substitutes, manage our online application system and assist with the system policy committee,” she said.

In recent months, Mitchell was pleased to assist the policy committee with a complete review of the policy manual for Madison City Schools. “Seeing the excitement of a newly hired employee” is the most rewarding aspect of her job.

Mitchell attended Jacksonville State University.

Her husband Russ Mitchell is vice president of National Bank of Commerce. “We have two boys. Jack is eight years old and in third grade. Grayson is five and will be in kindergarten. They will attend Mill Creek Elementary School,” she said.
