Commission office accepting donations for tornado victims on May 5-6

MADISON – To help tornado victims in Limestone County, residents can donate items at the Madison County Service Center, 100 Plaza Blvd. in Madison.

Steve Haraway, District 2 Madison County Commissioner, will accept donations at the service center on May 5-6 from 7:30 a.m. until 6 p.m.

Needed items are non-perishable food items; drinks, including water, soft drinks and Gatorade; clothing in all sizes, including children’s sizes; tarps, blankets; plastic storage containers; toiletries and hygiene Items; toilet paper and paper towels; and cleaning products.

The animal shelter needs dog and cat food and portable kennels for the misplaced animals that are living there.

For cash donations, checks should be payable to The Salvation Army.
