MADISON – Asbury Women at Asbury United Methodist Church will present “A Taste of the Holidays,” a community-wide event for women of all ages.

The shopping bazaar and tasting fair will be held on Nov. 1 from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. on the Asbury campus in the Five Points building, 980 Hughes Road at the intersection with Gillespie Road. No admission will be charged.

The event will offer gifts and treats for both the Thanksgiving and Christmas holidays. “We will have holiday shopping for every budget and include fun gifts for teachers, holiday decorations and local art,” event coordinator Rachel Cobb said.

Piper and Leaf Tea will sell loose-leaf teas and other artisan beverage options. 1818 Farms from its operation in Mooresville will offer Shae Cremes. Jewelry, scarves, pottery, wall decor and other merchandise will be sold.

“In addition to shopping, from 10 a.m. to noon, there will be lots of delicious, homemade Thanksgiving and Christmas foods to sample,” Cobb said. “As you go through and taste all the different foods, you can collect recipes of the ones you love. At the end, you’ll have your very own recipe book to take home.”

All shoppers will be entered in a drawing for a free holiday dinner for eight. “This prize will be given as a Cracker Barrel gift card that can be used however the winner decides,” Cobb said.

Guests are encouraged to bring canned goods to support food boxes donated during the holidays. Guests who donate will receive additional entries in the Cracker Barrel drawing.

Free gift wrapping will be available for all purchases. “We are very excited about this event and can’t wait to welcome the holiday seasons with all the other women in Madison,” Cobb said.
