MADISON – “Buy a book, get a beer” is the theme for a book launch at Blue Pants Brewery on April 15 that will benefit Madison Public Library.

Library staff will host the launch party for local author Michael Guillebeau and his new mystery novel, “A Study in Detail.” Event hours will be 3 to 10 p.m. at Blue Pants, 500 Lanier Road, Building 1, Suite A in Madison.

“Buy a book, get a beer” is Guillebeau’s promise for the event. Each person that buys a book will receive a free beer. Guillebeau also will sign each book.

“A portion of all food and beverage sales will go to Madison Public Library,” library branch manager Sarah Sledge said.

Blue Pants observes “We Care Wednesday” each week. A non-profit organization is the featured guest and shares a portion of proceeds.

Guillebeau’s “A Study in Detail” involves a death that might be faked, an insurance investigator trying to prove fraud and a husband seeking the truth about his wife’s disappearance.

In its review of “A Study in Detail,” the Midwest Book Review organization recommended Guillebeau’s book “for romance and mystery readers seeking something different. The dialogue is fresh, original and witty, and the twists of plot will keep even the most seasoned mystery reader thinking.”

Guillebeau is also the author of the mystery novel “Josh Whoever,” which received a starred review in “Library Journal” and “Shark’s Tooth,” a collection of mystery stories. For more information, visit michaelguillebeau.com.
