HUNTSVILLE – Broadway Theatre League believes its 2015/2016 season is so special that the lineup is “Magical.”

The league’s 56th “Magical” season has “six spectacular productions that promise to captivate, mesmerize, exhilarate and excite audiences,” league membership director Barry Sublett said.

The season will open Nov. 20-22 with Academy Award-winner Woody Allen’s hilarious “Bullets Over Broadway.” The plot line involves a young playwright who needs financial backing for his next show. The playwright accepts an offer ‘he can’t refuse’ from a gangster.

“Bullets Over Broadway” is recommended for ages 13 and older.

“The Producers,” winner of 12 Tony awards, was written by comedic genius Mel Brooks. The show will run on Jan. 8-10, 2016.

A producer and his accountant scheme to stage a huge flop, but, much to their dismay, the show is a standing-room-only smash. “The Producers” is recommended for ages 16 and older.

Disney’s enchanting “Beauty and the Beast” is scheduled for Jan. 29-31, 2016. The stage show is based on the animated feature film and features lavish sets and costumes.

Dust off the disco ball and bellbottom polyesters for “Mamma Mia!,” the tribute to music by Abba, including “Dancing Queen” and “Take a Chance on Me.” Show dates are Feb. 19-21, 2016.

In “Mamma Mia!,” a mother and daughter realize that love isn’t an easy lesson for any generation. The show is intended for ages 13 and older.

“Blue Man Group” will bring its explosive energy to Huntsville on March 4-6, 2016. This show is recommended for all ages and showcases the group’s comedy, music and technology.

The season concludes April 29 through May 1, 2016 with “The Illusionists.” This dazzling show has the audience asking, “How’d they do that?” This event is intended for ages 7 and older.

Current season subscribers can renew seats until June 12. The league offers several season package options and discounts.

Broadway Theatre League’s office is in the Von Braun Center, 700 Monroe St., Suite 410. For ticket information, call 256-518-6155 or visit broadwaytheatreleague.org.
