MADISON – The Hogan YMCA Teen Activity Center (TAC) has opened in the Madison facility at 130 Park Square Lane.

The Teen Activity Center for teenagers and ‘tweens’ “is a great meeting place for YMCA teen members and their guests to spend time, whether they are just hanging out or joining one of our amazing teen programs,” Hogan Family YMCA Executive Director Daniel Kasambira said.

“The Teen Activity Center has game tables, video games and many other types of equipment where fun times can be had,” Kasambira said. The center has XBox 360 and PS4 game systems, pool and ping pong tables, Foosball and air hockey.

The youth can choose to enroll in Teen Leadership Development programs. The YMCA in Madison offers the Leaders Club, Youth in Government, Interfaith Multicultural Youth Coalition, Christian Values Conference and Yellowstone Adventure and Service.

Hours for the Teen Activity Center for eight- through 12-year-olds are Monday through Friday from 4 to 6 p.m., Saturday from 3 to 5 p.m. and Sunday from 1 to 3 p.m. Thirteen- through 18-year-olds can attend Monday through Friday from 6 to 8 p.m., Saturday from 5 to 7 p.m. and Sunday from 3 to 5 p.m.

“All participants are expected to demonstrate the YMCA core values of ‘Caring, Honesty, Respect and Responsibility’ while using the Teen Activity Center,” Kasambira said. For more information, call Kimberly Keeton at 256-705-9622, ext. 309.

In addition, the YMCA has a new membership plan for youth who are 18 years old and younger at $20 per month with no join fees. Teenagers have full membership privileges.

Hogan Family YMCA is hiring a part-time “Teen Activity Center Experience Maker” who enjoys working with children eight to 12 years old, along with teenagers 13 to 18 years old. Work hours are Monday through Friday from 4 to 8 p.m., Saturday from 3 to 7 p.m. and Sunday from 1 to 5 p.m.
