MADISON – The Gadsden City Titans weren’t able to break James Clemens’ winning streak Oct. 9, as the Jets pulled the win 13-7.

It all came down to one intercepted pass with :44 seconds left in the game. The gasp of anticipation was almost audible within the Jets crowd who stuck it out until the end of the game.

Umbrellas were still as fans waited for the Titans quarterback to hurl the ball down the field, only to find Kyriq McDonald (6) waiting in the end zone, keeping the score at 13-7 as the team let the clock run out at the end of the game.

The first three points of the game were scored by kicker Will Grochowski (21) with 10 minutes left in the second quarter. Seven more points flashed up on the board when Monty Rice (4) picked up a blocked punt and ran it in for the TD. Grochowski got the last six points for the Jets, as well.

The Jets’ offense got the challenge they haven’t been used to in the past few weeks with a massive Titans defense (and offensive line for that matter), but James Clemens held their own throughout the game. The Jets picked up six sacks, 53 passing yards and 85 rushing yards against Gadsden City.

Some familiar names of young men who had big games are Michael Sharpley with eight tackles and 2.5 sacks. Rice got seven tackles along with his touchdown, and Devon Atkinson had 26 rushes plowing his way through the game to get a total of 97 yards for the Jets.
