MADISON – Members of Madison City Chess League are daring local leaders and business people to the MCCL Challenge on Jan. 13.
The challenge from 5 to 6:30 p.m. will involve members who are 10 years old or younger at Madison City Schools Central Office, 211 Celtic Drive. MCCL will provide all game equipment.
“We welcome any business or community leader to accept the challenge and sign up to participate,” league executive director Ranae Bartlett said.
Any adult who loses a game to a child must make a personal or corporate donation to MCCL, a 501(c)3 charitable organization that promotes chess education in North Alabama.
MCCL’s goal for 2016 is to raise funds to bring a chess master to North Alabama to train youngsters.
