Why I Love This Town — Kyle Dean

MADISON – For pharmacist Kyle Dean, Madison is a larger city than his hometown.

He is a native of Gadsden. Madison has “more community activities and areas for involvement,” Dean said.

Dean owns Madison Health Mart Pharmacy and Compounding at 8498 Madison Blvd., Suite A, just north of Hughes Road. He and his wife Kay both earned doctor of pharmacy degrees from McWhorter School of Pharmacy at Samford University.

“I have practiced pharmacy since graduating from Samford University,” Dean said. “My wife Kay and I have been married since May of 2012 and moved to Madison in the spring of 2013 after receiving pharmacist positions at a retail pharmacy chain in the Huntsville area.”

Kyle and Kay Dean were “specifically attracted to the diversity of the City of Madison and its close location to our hometowns of Gadsden and Centre, Alabama,” he said. “Madison offers the small-town feeling that Kay and I enjoy, with the diversity and activities of a larger city.”

Dean is thankful for his learning experience during pharmacy school internship at large chains and hospitals and later working at chains. “I adopted strengths from each pharmacy I liked … (to improve) this process in my own store,” he said.

Madison Health Mart Pharmacy offers numerous services, including compounded medications and vaccinations. “Filling your prescription at an independently owned pharmacy is another way to support small business,” Dean said.

For information about Madison Health Mart Pharmacy, call Dean at 256-325-1139 or visit madisonhealthmartpharmacy.com or Facebook.

Away from work, Dean enjoys taking time for traveling, woodworking, fishing and spending time with friends and family. I Love Sushi is his choice of restaurants in Madison.
