MADISON – Madison police have arrested 30-year-old Christopher Sean Davis of Madison for two counts of robbery in the third degree and three counts of the theft of property in the first degree.

In May, police officers responded to three vehicle thefts, during which the offender stole victims’ vehicles while they were left temporarily unattended but within view of the victims.

The first theft occurred on May 22 from the CVS parking lot at 8503 Old Madison Pike while the vehicle’s owner was at a vending machine. The other two thefts occurred on May 27 while victims were at gasoline pumps at 300 Hughes Road.

Madison detectives developed information that led to the arrest of Davis, who was taken into custody on June 24. Davis was booked into the Madison County Jail with a total bond of $120,000.

Madison Police Department has responded to an increase of stolen vehicles and thefts from inside of vehicles. “We encourage citizens to remove keys and lock vehicle doors. When fueling your vehicle, or stepping out of your vehicle, even briefly, remove your keys from the ignition,” a police spokesperson said.

Madison Police Department’s headquarters are in City Hall at 100 Hughes Road in Madison. In case of emergency, call 9-1-1. For situations that aren’t emergencies, call 256-772-5658.
