MADISON – The Allstate Foundation has recognized an agency owner in Madison for her willingness to give back to her community.
Madison businesswoman Carolyn Lankford received the Allstate Agency “Hands in the Community Award” for her commitment to helping others and community service. She is agency owner of the Lankford & Battle Allstate Insurance Agency at 7771 U.s. 72 W., Suite A in Madison.
“Madison has a wonderful sense of community where everyone is friendly and genuinely cares about each other,” Lankford said. “It’s amazing to see how much Madison has grown in the last 20-plus years since I’ve had my Allstate agency here.”
A Knoxville native, Lankford grew up in Huntsville and graduated from Lee High School. “I made my way to Madison because of the growth opportunity for my agency and have enjoyed having my business here,” Lankford said.
She earned a bachelor’s degree from Auburn University and a master’s degree at the University of Alabama in Huntsville.
As part of Lankford’s honor, the Allstate Foundation has awarded a $1,000 grant to Big Brothers Big Sisters of North Alabama, one of the organizations that Lankford helps.
“I’m in the school-based mentoring program through Big Brothers Big Sisters of North Alabama and enjoy the time I get to spend with my ‘Little,’ Adrijana, a fifth-grader at University Place Elementary School,” Lankford said.
In addition, she is very active with Women’s Economic Development Committee and Huntsville Rotary Club.
“The Allstate Agency Hands in the Community Award celebrates the spirit of service and commitment to communities where we live, work and do business,” Bob Holden said. Holden works as Field Senior Vice President for Allstate’s Southeast region.
“With support from The Allstate Foundation, Carolyn makes our hometown a better place,” Holden said.
Allstate, its agents and employees have a proud history of putting their good hands to work in supporting Alabama communities, promoting volunteerism and providing financial resources to enable local organizations to help others, Holden said. Now in its 64th year, the Allstate Foundation has given more than $300 million in financial contributions to communities around the United States.
