City to host Generations Expo slated for Oct. 30

MADISON — Citizens aged 50 and older will get to have their own Halloween celebration and enjoy other services at the Boomers and Seniors Generations Expo Oct. 30 at Dublin Park from 9 a.m. – noon.

The City of Madison’s Parks and Recreation Department is hosting the event.

Attendees will be able to enjoy Halloween treats and take advantage of health screenings onsite at the event. Door prizes will also be available.

The local business and organizations providing health screenings will also be able to answer questions and provide a wealth of information. As of the date of this article’s publication, fifteen vendors will be participating at the Generations Expo.

At 10:30 a.m., Steady for Life will hold an exercise presentation. Steady for Life is a Huntsville-based nonprofit dedicated to teaching balance techniques, as well as providing health education and screenings. Following the exercise presentation, a costume contest will take place at 11 a.m.

The event, held in Dublin’s gymnasium, is free to attend. Parking will also be free.

For more information or to sign up as an exhibitor, contact Robin Watson, Generations Program coordinator with Madison’s Parks and Recreation Department, at 256-772-2554 or robin.watson@madisonal.gov.

Watson said the event will also showcase some of the new Generations programs.

Dublin Park is located at 8324 Madison Pike in Madison.
