Bob Jones adds 5 to Hall of Fame

MADISON – Bob Jones High School has inducted five more individuals into its Hall of Fame.

“These individuals serve as role models for current and future Bob Jones students,” Bob Jones Assistant Principal Amy Thaxton said.

Brian Campe of Mooresville, N.C. graduated from Bob Jones in 1999 and earned a bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering/motorsports from the University of North Carolina – Charlotte. Campe works as race engineer for Team Penske Indycar Series with driver and defending champion Josef Newgarden.

In 1998, Campe received the Patriot Attitude football award. Today, he coaches Little League football. His wife Shannon Plate Campe (Class of 1999) and he are parents of Riley, Gunner and Cooper. Brian’s parents, Mike and B.J. Campe, still live in Madison.

Dr. Terri Johnson earned a bachelor’s degree in mathematics at Rhodes College and master and doctorate’s degrees from University of Alabama in Huntsville. At UAH, she lectures in math classes.

Johnson served on Madison Board of Education from 2007 to 2018, working as Finance Committee chairperson, Vice-President and President. She advocated for students in Alabama Association of School Boards and National School Board Association.

Terri and husband Greg Johnson are parents of Bob Jones alumni: Russell, Charlie and Mark, all accomplished swimmers. Terri is a certified USA Swimming official. The Johnsons attend Asbury United Methodist Church.

Allison Helms Logan, a 2005 Bob Jones graduate, marched as drum major in the Patriot Band and competed with the swim team. Logan holds a bachelor’s degree in animal science from Auburn University. She marched in the Auburn Band.

Previously, Logan worked as at SeaWorld San Antonio and now works as Senior 1 Trainer for SeaWorld Orlando’s dolphin program. She performs show roles with California sea lions and Asian small-clawed otters. She is married to Jeremy Logan. Her parents are Larry and Sue Helms of Cartersville, Ga.

Dr. Alfred LaShawn Malone, Class of 1991, earned bachelor and master’s degrees in electrical engineering at Auburn University and graduated from Case Western Reserve School of Medicine. He completed residency and a fellowship at Duke University Medical Center.

A partner at Radiology of Huntsville, Malone has worked as Chief of Musculoskeletal Radiology and Vice President. He was a research fellow with the U.S. Air Force and received two Special Act of Service awards. He earned Case’s 2004 Alfred S. Maschke Prize.

Malone earned Service Champion award, Duke UMC; Huntsville Hospital’s Radiologist of the Year, three times; and Auburn’s Outstanding Alumni Achievement Award. He and wife Jennifer (Class of 1992) are parents of Alfred LaShawn II and Jonathan.

A 2003 Bob Jones graduate, Jessica McKleroy broke 25-plus school softball records. She participated in Patriot Players, Mu Alpha Theta, Beta Club, First Priority, FCA, International Thespian Society and SGA.

McKleroy earned a bachelor’s degree in behavioral science from Athens State University and a master’s degree in clinical mental health counseling from Regent University. She now owns A Spacious Place LLC, a counseling practice.

Formerly a foster parent, McKleroy has four children: Macy, Cody, Lola Dixie and Zoey Sue. Her parents are Kelly McKleroy and the late Jeff McKleroy of Madison.
