Madison Public Library to host free internet safety workshop Nov. 18
MADISON — Madison Public Library announced last week that they will be hosting a free workshop open to the public on internet and screen safety Nov. 18 beginning at 2 p.m. in Auditorium 2 of the library.
The workshop will be presented by educators from the Parent to Parent Huntsville Team, a program of the Military Child Education Coalition.
The focus of the workshop will be examining how parents can lead their children to safer use of electronics, as well as the benefits and concerns of internet usage. A variety of resources will be provided to help parents stay connected to their children’s online experience while keeping them safe.
This program is being coordinated with Tween Time, an event for children ages 9-13. Parents are encouraged to stay and attend the workshop while their children attend the youth program.
A nonprofit organization, the Military Child Education Coalition’s mission is to ensure inclusive, quality educational opportunities for all children affected by mobility, family separation, and transition.
The Parent to Parent Teams, including the one in Huntsville, offer free informative and educational parent workshops to groups and organizations in the community. The goal of these workshops is to empower parents to better mentor their children through the academic, social and emotional impacts of the transitional lifestyle.
