City making adjustments to signals for better traffic flow
MADISON – City officials in Madison are saying traffic problems along County Line Road and Madison Blvd. will get better soon. The city has re-timed the signal at Madison Blvd and County Line to give more time to the left turning traffic off I-565. This was made possible by the re-striping of Madison Blvd to allow two lanes to make right turns from Madison Blvd to County Line Road.
The city’s engineering department and public works staff are also working on re-timing the County Line Road signals at Hardiman and Mill for better synchronization and traffic flow.
City officials said the programing is set up in two spare controllers at the public works facility. They are monitoring them to make sure they are performing as desired before they are installed at the intersections.
When those intersections are working efficiently, they will re-time and coordinate the remaining signals on County Line Road.
Once County Line issues are addressed and fixed, Madison Blvd can expect adjustments to ease traffic as well. The city’s goal is to move traffic efficiently on Madison Blvd and County Line Road so they can handle extra commuters when construction on Sullivan Street and Hughes Road begin.
