Students hold “launch watch’ party for liftoff of rocket carrying their experiment
They had a special connection to this launch. A payload with one of their experiments was on board.
The Bob Jones team partnered with engineering students from James Clemens High School on a device that would measure the effects of voltage change in microgravity.
Blue Origin set extremely tight criteria for payload experiments which forced a lot of attention to detail, paperwork and approvals. The payload had to fit in a 4 X 4 X 8 inch box, weigh less than a pound, and meet extremely strict safety and design protocols.
The payload will be retrieved and shipped back to Madison for the team’s analysis.
