Job hunting? Madison City Schools has openings

MADISON – Would you like to work for Madison City Schools? The district has numerous openings in administrative, teaching and support jobs.

For details about the openings, visit madisoncity.k12.al.us and scroll down to the “Education” link. At the MCS site, candidates can access applications and other required forms.

In one opening for administrative work, Heritage Elementary School is searching for an assistant principal. Candidates must have a valid Alabama teacher’s certificate, a master’s degree, administrative certification from an accredited university and three years of successful teaching experience.

Sharon Nichole Phillips, new administrator for the Madison City Pre-Kindergarten Center, formerly worked as Heritage assistant principal and MCS Elementary Instruction Specialist.

In openings for certified personnel, James Clemens High School needs a teacher for social science and general science. Bob Jones High School has a vacancy for math teacher.

Columbia and Rainbow elementary schools both have an opening for special education teacher (DD – system-wide). Rainbow also needs a third-grade teacher for first semester only.

Liberty Middle School has slots for two teachers in English language arts. Discovery Middle School needs a band director/teacher and social studies teacher.

At Central Office, staff openings include slots for three school psychologists and a math specialist. System-wide, Madison City Schools is hiring an elementary gifted teacher and two elementary STEAM or Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts and Mathematics teachers.

In classified job openings, MCS is hiring a finance coordinator for Central Office; an auxiliary nurse and temporary clinic health nurse for first semester at Heritage; paraprofessional II (behavioral, DD, pre-K); and two teacher aides for pre-K auxiliary.

In support and substitute jobs, MCS Transportation Department is searching for a utility worker, two substitute bus drivers, one bus driver aide and eight bus drivers. Individuals can apply for cafeteria openings for CNP supervisor or as CNP worker at James Clemens and Horizon Elementary School.

MCS needs a system-wide custodian, along with a custodian at James Clemens.

James Clemens has an opening for permanent substitute. Systemwide, MCS needs five special education aides/LPN.

In other needs, Horizon needs expanded-day workers. The work could help a college student majoring in education or an adult who previously worked with children.
