‘Oh, Say Can You …’ sing ‘The National Anthem’ for Trash Pandas

MADISON – Singing “The National Anthem” at a public event is a prestigious undertaking for any vocalist. Local singers can vie for a chance and the honor to sing at games for the Rocket City Trash Pandas.

The Rocket City Trash Pandas will hold auditions at Toyota Field in Town Madison on March 7. Individuals who are interested in performing “The National Anthem,” or “Star-Spangled Banner” as the music is also known, for the inaugural season must register and receive a specific audition time.

Officials will schedule auditions on a first-come, first-served basis. To register for an audition slot, email Ricky Fernandez at rfernandez@trashpandasbaseball.com.

Anyone who cannot attend an audition or did not receive a time can submit an audio file with an a cappella rendition of the “Star-Spangled Banner” to rfernandez@trashpandasbaseball.com. Groups of 20 people or more interested in performing before Trash Pandas’ game can contact the Trash Pandas group sales representative Brennan Patrick at bpatrick@trashpandasbaseball.com.

Opening Day at Toyota Field will be April 15. Tickets for the full season and mini-plans are still available.

In hospitality options, Toyota Field provides a celebratory backdrop for a company picnic, youth sports outing, birthday party, anniversary celebration, family reunion, bachelor/bachelorette party, gender reveal, graduation party, Little League outing, church gathering or civic gathering. The Rocket City Trash Pandas want to offer groups an outstanding experience, according to their website. All hospitality areas include in-game recognition on the Toyota Field Videoboard and a chance for a group member to throw out a ceremonial first pitch.

Rocket City Trash Pandas’ office address is 8121 Madison Blvd., Suite 102 in Madison. The Trash Pandas Emporium’s address is 365 The Bridge Street, Suite 335-125 in Huntsville. Store hours are Monday through Saturday from 10 a.m. to 9 p.m. and Sunday from noon to 6 p.m.
