WinShape Camp returns with help from Wall Highway, Asbury

MADISON – WinShape Camp will return to Madison in July.

The hugely popular camp instills positive memories that young people take away and fondly remember for many years. Wall High Baptist Church and Asbury United Methodist Church are sponsoring WinShape this summer.

WinShape is a one-week, all-day camp for children who have completed kindergarten through eighth grade. Registration opened March 2. The first 100 campers to register will receive a $20 discount. In addition, financial assistance is available.

WinShape Foundation is partnering with Chick-fil-A restaurants and the churches to bring a full day camp to Madison. “This will be our 11th year to reach out into our community with this camp,” Asbury spokesperson and Director of Asbury Kids Ministry Lori Menikheim said. “We would love for as many kids as possible to join us.”

WinShape Camp leaders strive to help build strong character in the lives of young people. The camps focus on creating a positive, Christian environment where campers have fun as they make friends and learn more about God. The youth learn from daily worship, music, prayer and devotions Biblical truths from His Word.

Each WinShape Camps staff member is a follower of Jesus Christ who will continually strive to teach about Christ-like behavior for all campers. However, the counselors absolutely respect each individual camper’s right to make their own decisions regarding important spiritual matters.

WinShape camp sessions will be held on July 20-24. On Monday through Thursday, sessions will meet from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m.; on Friday, camp hours will be 8 a.m. to noon. Chick-fil-A will treat all members of camper families to lunch on July 24.

“The summer of a lifetime is coming to your community close to home,” Menikheim said. “Campers cultivate their God-given skills and talents in a mix of indoor and outdoor moments, physical activity and creative play, with epic adventures at camp all day and sleeping soundly back at home at night.”
