Little Booths Market Day will debut at The Grove Church July 12

MADISON – A special event for young, aspiring entrepreneurs and vendors will debut this Saturday in Madison with Little Booths Market Day.

Little Booths Market Day on July 12 is designed to give children and teenagers from five to 17 years old a venue to sell handmade goods, art, desserts and more. The youth will have the chance to interact like business owners during the free, family-centered shopping.

The Market will be held at The Grove Church, 12300 County Line Road, from 1 to 5 p.m.

“Each child will run their own booth while gaining real-world experience in leadership, customer service, communication and money management,” founder/coordinator Breanna Griffin said. “This is our very first year, and it’s already blossoming into something bigger and more beautiful than I ever imagined.”

This market “means the world to me. What makes this event so special is the kids themselves…the joy on their faces when they feel seen, heard and capable. It’s watching shy children light up when they get to introduce their brand. It’s see- ing families come together to support a dream,” Griffin said.

Sisters Raley, age 11, and Audrey, age 9, plan to sell their beautiful handmade bracelets at the Market.

Raley loves ballet, writing, and all things crafty, while Audrey is a gymnastics pro, nature explorer, and has a huge heart for animals, said Griffin. “Together, they’ve combined their creativity and love for making things by designing unique and colorful bracelets perfect for everyone.”

Originally, Griffin expected only a few families might participate. However, approximately 60 youth-run booths have signed up.

“I’m a mom of three daughters. Everything I do is inspired by the kind of world I want them — and all our kids — to grow up in. A world where they feel empowered to lead. Where their talents are celebrated,” Griffin said.

Griffin’s daughters are 11-year-old Mia, a seventh-grader at Liberty Middle School; eight-year-old Kenley, a third-grader at Columbia Elementary School; and six-year-old Kara, a kindergartener at Columbia.

“We hope you’ll join us in making Little Booths Market Day a day to remember,” Griffin said.
