Friday morning update on local and statewide COVID-19 cases

There are now 1,315 people with coronavirus in the state says the Alabama Department of Publc Health (ADPH). At 9:20 a.m., Madison County still had the second largest number of cases in the state with 117. Limestone has 26.

The ADPH reports that 34 deaths have been reported from COVID-19. They have so far been able to confirm 21 of those cases.

9,560 people in the state have been tested. That number is expected to actually be higher since commercial testing sites do not have to report negative test results to the ADPH.
