Highsmith to host virtual town hall meeting Tuesday

MADISON – Madison mayorial candidate Marc Highsmithis planning to hold a town hall meeting Tuesday, Aug. 18. It will begin at 8 p.m.

“This is an open and Interactive Town Hall where people of Madison can use their computers, smart phones, and other electronic devices to visit @highsmith4mayor and participate in the Q & A session,” a statement from Highsmith’s campaign stated.

“After serving my country for over 21 years, I now want to serve the Madison community. I want to build a community that is inclusive to all the citizens of Madison. A community that is transparent to decisions that are made affecting this great city of Madison. Representatives of the people of Madison must be accountable for all their actions. It is time for change and I want to bring that change to Madison,” said Highsmith.

Anyone wanting to participate can join the meeting by downloading the free VideoCafe software to your computer from www.videocafe.live/download.html or download the free VideoCafe app on to your iPhone from the App Store. Visit www.highsmith4mayor.com/events to register and join.

“There is much good about Madison that we need to preserve and enhance. We cannot reach the great heights this city is destined for all of our people for a bright future, unless we change,” Highsmith said.

Highsmith said he is excited to invite Madison citizens to learn more about him and his platform through this town hall meeting and on his website at www.highsmith4mayor.com. “I am running for an office of trust. Public participation is the air that a campaign breathes,” he said. “I don’t just request your input, I need it.”
