Hogan Family YMCA Executive Director selected for new position

MADISON – The Hogan Family YMCA executive director now has a new position. Daniel Kasambira has been named Chief Development and Community Engagement Officer for the Heart of the Valley YMCA, which manages the Hogan Family facility in Madison.
Kasambira became the executive director of the Hogan Family Branch YMCA in January 2015. He previously served as Director of Alabama A&M Student Health and Wellness Center in Huntsville from 2010-2014. He also served as executive director of five YMCAs throughout the country.
“Daniel’s wealth of knowledge and experience in securing grants, annual giving campaigns and capital campaigns make him an ideal candidate for this positions,” a press release from the Heart of the Valley YMCA stated. “During his YMCA career, he has been involved in campaigns that have raised over $30 million dollars.”
Kasambira maintains active involvement in community service organizations. He is an active member of the Huntsville Rotary Club International Foundation Board of Directors, President Alabama Association of Non-Profits Board of Directors, Renasant Bank Advisory Board member, Board Member of the Madison Chamber of Commerce, Huntsville Committee of 100, YMCA Professional Network (YPN) Chapter 21 Board of Directors, Community Action For Youth (CAFY) Steering Committee, Community Kite Day Festival Steering Committee (Chair in 2015 & 2016) and attends Emmanuel The Connection Church.
He received his undergraduate degree from Roberts Wesleyan College in Rochester, New York where he was a 3-year starter on the basketball team. Daniel is married to Julian Kasambira and, they have four children Jamal (28), Daniel (23), Isaiah (21) and Imani (17).
