Kids to Love celebrates opening of Smith Family Wellness Center
MADISON – Amazing. That’s the word that best captures the night Kids to Love officially opened the doors of its most ambitious initiative yet—the Smith Family Wellness Center, 140 Castle Drive iin Madison, in Memory of Mark C. Smith.
Last Wednesday, donors, supporters, and community leaders gathered for a standing-room-only celebration as Kids to Love cut the ribbon on two major additions to its campus: the Smith Family Wellness Center and the Isenberg Center for Education and Innovation.
The 17,000-square-foot facility represents a new era in Madison-based Kids to Love’s mission to care for children in foster care and the families who support them. Under one roof, the building unites four signature areas of service:
• Smith Family Wellness Center, Home of the Grant Hill Trauma Team – made possible by Brad and Stacey Hill, founders of the Hill Family Foundation, in memory of their late son, Grant Hill. A mural inside the center depicts Grant’s time playing football at the University of Alabama and honors his dream of starting a mental wellness center in North Alabama to help youth overcome trauma, improve their mental wellness, and pursue their goals.
• The Isenberg Center for Education and Innovation – made possible by Hank Isenberg, founder of IronMountain Solutions, this space provides expanded training for foster families, workforce readiness programs, and will serve as the Kids to Love Event Center, available for rental beginning in 2026.
• The Curtis Cares Center – made possible by Matt and Courtney Curtis, founders of Matt Curtis Real Estate, this wing expands resources for children and families in crisis.
• The Kids Clinic (Opening in 2026) – made possible by the Brooks Gray Foundation, the clinic will expand healthcare access for children in foster care.
Since launching trauma care services, Kids to Love has already served 357 clients, delivering therapy to some of the most vulnerable children and families in our region.
“This building will help us meet the needs of people who need healing from trauma, it will allow us to better train foster families and others, and it gives us more space to hold the items we have to care for our kids,” said Lee Marshall, Founder and CEO of Kids to Love. “Most importantly, it stands as a promise that no child or family has to walk through pain or uncertainty alone.”
Kids to Love extends heartfelt gratitude to Linda Smith, Hank Isenberg, Brad and Stacey Hill, Matt and Courtney Curtis, and the many other donors and partners who made this milestone possible.
With the ribbon cut and doors officially open, the future at Kids to Love looks brighter than ever.
